About The Whalan Chronicles

As told by Abercrombie Whalan — master artisan, crossbowman, rune‑scribe, and reluctant historian of the Rune Crew.

The Whalan Chronicles began as a simple travel ledger — a place tae record the day’s bruises, victories, and the occasional near‑death misadventure. But as the roads grew stranger, the vaults deeper, and the company louder, the ledger became something else entirely:

A living chronicle of our Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition campaign, written from within the world itself.

I am Abercrombie Whalan, son of Esau Whalan
grandmaster artisan of the Whalan Clan,
and a respected member of the Mount Druitt Collective.
My father forged wonders and shaped histories in steel and stone.
I followed a different craft:
a master artisan of tannery and taxidermy, preserving the hides and forms of creatures we encounter — from mundane beasts tae wyrmlings and worse.

These pages follow the tale of the Rune Crew
a mismatched band of heroes, scoundrels, scholars, and whatever Rudy claims tae be on any given day —
bound together by circumstance, stubbornness, and the occasional divine shove.

We’ve crossed blades with paladins, automatons, wyrmlings, mimics, and horrors best left unnamed.
We’ve deciphered ancient runes, mapped forgotten vaults, and survived traps that would make a sane dwarf retire on the spot.

Every entry is written from my own perspective —
crossbowman, artisan, rune‑enthusiast, and chronicler by necessity rather than choice —
ensuring our deeds are no’ lost tae time, ale, or Rudy’s creative memory.

If ye’re new here, start wherever ye like.
Each session stands on its own, but together they form the saga of a company who never asked for greatness…
but keeps trippin’ over it anyway.

So pull up a chair, pour yerself a dram, and step into the story.
The road ahead is long, the vaults are deep, and the gods only know what waits in the next chamber.

Welcome tae The Whalan Chronicles
a D&D 5e journal forged in chaos, camaraderie, and the occasional lightning trap.
